Indigenous Rights Movement

The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples & Obama's
Refusal to Sign

In the world only two nations, Canada and the United States, have refused
to sign this declaration. Only TWO!

At the time of this writing there has been an amendment offered to
pacify these two countries. They are now objecting to the amendment
because of the letter "s" used in the word 'peoples'!

Now what do you call it when a group of people are denied rights based
soley on their ethnicity? One would think the CURRENT President of the
United States would have some sort of clue about this, would not one. But
it seems the change he talks about doesn't apply to our people. His
stance is the same stance as George Bush's was. I see no change.

Obama, Bush, Obusha.

Please contact the White house at 202.456.1111 or by their web mailform

You may also contact the State Department and voice your opinion on this subject.

The declaration http://www.un-documents.net/a61r295.htm offers remedy to the breaking of treaties with our people, allows us to once again have our traditional forms of governments, and return of resources
among other things.

Take time to read the declaration and see what the rest of the world has agreed to. And ask yourself why, has this supposedly great country through Bush and Obama, refused to walk into the 21st century involving indigenous rights?

Our old ones signed treaties with this government and they have been
honored by our people. Why is the government of this country and that
of Canada so afraid of these simple rights of honesty, openness and fair
dealing? We have a choice, to speakup, or remain silent. Perhaps if we
speak up change can come. If we remain silent............
