The Mist of Time
~ Oieya
Can you see me? I'm here, really I am. I am a spirit that was born to a young woman and taken to the cauldrons of hell. I never had a chance to be named, not even a chance to live, for they burned us and left our bones behind in the furnaces of truth, however my spirit remains here in the valley of death. Could you not hear us? Could you not smell the acrid scent of death? Why have the children suffered at the hands of religion, and why do they continue to lie?
My spirit has remained quiet 'til now and wishes for my story to be told. It is cold here in the swaddling clothes of misery and yet I fear not the apathetic apology but the cold shoulder of indifference.
My sisters and brothers are all here waiting to be heard in the gallows of time, and waiting for the glorified truth of their Spirit, but wait is their truth? Or is their death?
I summon all of you to gather in our names and honor our rightful passage, but also to unify the voice of one and to go to the stronghold of our beliefs so that this may never happen again.
My spirit has grown to the rightful age of wisdom, and seeks the solace of my people in the hereafter, but I cannot leave 'til all the others have been heard. Michael Two Feathers is here with me and wants to know if you have seen Annie. Have you seen the spirit of the children? Annie, Annie? Please keep calling her name; Michael is lost with out her, and needs Annie desperately at his side.
Come now, it is time for the song of enlightenment, and time to break free the chains of oppression, and time to come home to the beliefs of our people. The valley is shaded with the mist of time and needs the rainbow of all people to see that we must save the children. Can you? Save the children? I am done with my story for now, it hurts so to speak of what they did to us, but the truth always wins against the evils of history. So goodbye for now and I look forward to seeing everyone soon. Ok? Soon, yes soon.

From the Author: "This piece is just one in a series that I have written for those who never returned or suffered abuse at the hands of various religious institutions, and within their own homes. My brother is one such victim and this is dedicated to him. He was born Jeremiah Joseph O'Sullivan on December 1, 1959 in Bessboro, County Cork, Ireland and passed away on July 5, 2010 under his adoptive name, Kevin McCambridge. May he for once in his life find some peace and happiness on his journey to the Great Spirit, and for all of those who have survived these institutions, we hear you, and stand at your side. We must honor those who have gone onto the Spirit World, and too set aside our differences so that we can be there for the generations yet to come."
