Women Step Into Your Power
by
Carole Blodgett

"...Grasp them with a firm hand and step into your power, become a prayer warrior for our next seven generations of the Bison Nation (human beings) and for the next seven generations of all things within the Great Mystery."

The loss of the feminine is so evident in our indigenous societies. Human suffering is at an all time high as is the suffering of Unci Maka (Grandmother Earth). The loss of our “becoming a woman” ceremonies in many nations has resulted in our disconnection of these sacred powers because many of us were not instructed in our nation’s social roles in a matricidal society, the creation of sacred relationships, and the care of our children and Unci Maka.

Women have been given the natural born abilities of creation and nurturing. Grasp them with a firm hand and step into your power, become a prayer warrior for our next seven generations of the Bison Nation (human beings) and for the next seven generations of all things within the Great Mystery. Meditate on the old matricidal societies and the balance that they maintained within themselves and Unci Maka. Meditate on the story of the Clan mother of the 7th Moon, "Loves All Things."  Deloria Many Grey Horses says, “Starting from within, working in a circle, in a sacred manner, we develop and heal ourselves, our relationships, and the world.”

Men take your lead from our brother Russell Means who said: "If we don't have matriarchy we are lost." Russell notes that within the matriarchal societies those once prevailed humans lived “in balance with nature. Mother Earth's creations, her animals and plants, are treated with great respect, and this respect should be shared amongst humans too.” He advocates “matriarchy as the way forward if we want to change the world for the better and stop the wars, deaths, destruction and suffering going on in the current situation.”

Honor the women in your life as they step back into their power and understand that we do not see ourselves as superior to you in any way; were where both given our place in “the web of life.”

Men and women are like the bow and arrow neither can accomplish their mission in life without the other. We need both to be in balance; but until the women step back into their power that balance can not be obtained.
